HHCT launched the Best Kept Churches Award with the aim of encouraging communities to get into the habit of routinely planning for the maintenance of their churches, thus ensuring that problems are identified and addressed promptly.
Cradley Church won first prize in its inaugural year. Our criteria, guidelines and application process is being fine tuned for the next award, hoped for 2024.
The Trust is delighted to have support by way of sponsorship from Ecclesiastical Insurance and Ty Mawr Lime, both proponents of the stitch-in-time approach. We urge all congregations to support this award which will not only reduce the costs of maintaining your church, but also focus attention towards caring more for the House of God.
