27th November, 6.15pm:  St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, Broad Street

As our final concert for the 2023 season we will be staging a Christmas-themed instrumental concert featuring large and chamber ensembles from the Hereford Cathedral School Music Department. This concert is called the ‘Tanners Concert’ after Tanners Wine Merchants who have generously supported our concert series over the years. The evening will feature:

  • Jazz Band
  • Concert Band
  • Training Band
  • Saxophone Ensemble
  • Clarinet Group
  • Flute Group
  • Junior Strings
  • 2 x String Quartet

Hannah Roper in Concert: Folk to Film

Hannah was born and bred in Herefordshire and maintains strong musical links with the county.  A talented violinist (a winner of the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin prize for string-playing while reading music at Cambridge), her career has taken her to national and international venues including Carnegie Hall in New York, playing alongside leading ensembles including the English Symphony Orchestra and the Oxford Philharmonic   Her solo programme this evening will comprise an eclectic, light-hearted selection of pieces by (among others) American, Armenian and British composers, not least the soloist herself!

Carducci and HCS in Concert

Music in Quiet places brings the return of the Carducci Quartet in collaboration with musicians from Hereford Cathedral School in an exciting and eclectic selection of music at the wonderful church of St. Mary’s, Ross-on-Wye. on the 27th. June 2024 at 7pm.

Songs of Praise for St. George’s Day: Woolhope, Tuesday 23rd April 2024

Returning by popular request, the programme will comprise a selection of favourite hymns (audience participation is warmly invited!) interwoven with music provided by Hereford Cathedral School Chamber Choir and Chamber Musicians. Performed on St George’s Day in St George’s Church, Woolhope, the performance will be a double celebration of England’s patron saint.
