Thank you to everyone who attended HHCT’s inaugural opera at Treago last year, which was a huge success.

Wild Arts came to Herefordshire to perform an evening of open-air opera at Treago. With kind permission of Sir Richard and Lady Mynors and Alex and Stephen Herbert, the opera was directed by Orlando Jopling, supporter of the Trust and musician of international renown.
75 minutes of magic – arias, songs and ensembles, informally staged to make a narrative, performed by four world-class singers and a string quintet. Music by Handel, Mozart, Puccini, Verdi, Bernstein and Rodgers & Hammerstein, with some surprises and unusual gems.
Let me tell you that Wild Arts’ opera evenings are of a breathtakingly high, ROH-level musical standard – a gorgeous quintet of musicians and a most cunning choice of excerpts, mischievously well acted. I’d follow Orlando Jopling’s lot anywhere.

What a triumph! The audience were truly enraptured from start to finish – we had so many positive comments. Much happiness all round. Congratulations!
